Remove the main seat and the passenger seat 2. Remove the tail cover by removing the two bolts. 3 Place the Power Commander in the tail section and route the wiring harness on the inside of the tail section towards the front of the bike (Fig. A). 4. Remove the fuel tank. 5. Remove the air box lid by removing the 8 screws around the outer edge (Fig. B). 6. Remove the bolts shown in Fig. C. This will allow you to remove the air box. Plug the white connectors from the PCIII in-line of the stock TPS connector (Fig. E). 9. Locate the fuel rail connector behind the injector bodies (Fig. F). This connector is brown in color

1 Remove the seat 2 Remove the left hand side cover (Fig. A). 3 Unplug the stock wiring harness connector from the ECM (Fig. B). 4 Move the data plug (Fig. B) out of the way to access bolt. 5 Remove the 3 bolts that hold the electrical box in place (Fig. B). 6 Slide the plastic box out from the frame. 7 Route the stock connector through the box and into the small opening in the frame (Fig. C). 1 Remove the stock seat. 2 Unplug the stock wiring harness from the ECM (Fig. A) . 3 Remove the ECM from the tray and remove the tray from the fender. You can reach underneath the fender to gain access to the release tabs for the tray. 4 Install the Dynojet tray into the rear fender . Make sure that all 3 location tabs are underneath the fender. 5 Lay the PCIII in the tray (Fig. B). 6 Install the stock ECM on top of the PCIII making sure that it is secured by the tray locking tabs. 7 Plug the GREYconnector from the PCIII into the ECM. 8 Route the PCIII harness on top of the GREY connector (Fig. C) and route towards the front of the bike. Secure this connection with one of the supplied zip ties (Fig. D). 10 Run a zip tie behind the wiring harness (Fig. E). 11 Route the stock wiring harness as shown in Fig. E. Due to the lack of room on this bike this step needs to be exact or the install will not fit properly . Make sure that the harness coming from the GREYconnector is flush against the battery box. 1. Find and unplug the O² sensor wires from the wiring harness and remove the ZIPSTRIP holding front O² sensor wires to the frame. Feed the end of the wire through the frame so they are free from the motorcycle. Note: pay attention to wire routing for re-installation. 2. Loosen the heat shield clamps on both the front and rear head pipe to gain easier access to the mounting nuts. 3. Remove the two head pipe mounting nuts from the flange at the heads. 4. Remove the clamp bolts that mounts the rear head pipe to the belt drive cover bracket. 5. Remove the two bolts from each muffler body where they attach to the stock mounting bracket. Carefully remove the exhaust system from the motorcycle and set aside. 6. Using a 7/8″ wrench, carefully remove the O² sensors from the stock head pipes and save for re-use on your RUSH system. 7. Remove the drive belt cover and remove the bracket off the rear cover bolt, bracket will not be re-used. 8. Loosen the brake rod at the rear eyelet using a T-30 torx socket. 9. Remove the three mounting bolts and washers attaching the exhaust mounting bracket. 10. If equipped with mid-controls, remove right side foot peg before installing your new RUSH system.

4-28 2007 Softail: Fuel System HOME 1 WARNING 1 WARNING Gasoline can drain from the crossover line when disconnected from fuel tank. Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive, which could result in death or serious injury. Wipe up spilled fuel immediately and dispose of rags in a suitable manner. (00259a) 6. Drain fuel tank. a. Obtain a short section of hose (5/16 inch I.D.). Insert bolt in one end of hose and install hose clamp to ensure that end is securely plugged. b. See Figure 4-38. Cut clamp (1) from one end of crossover hose (2). Quickly replace crossover hose on fuel tank fitting with open end of short hose while directing flow of gasoline from free end of crossover hose into suitable container. 7. See Figure 4-39. Unplug fuel pump module connector (3) [86]. 8. Remove top plate screws (2) and discard. 9. See Figure 4-40. Pull top plate (2) out of fuel tank enough to expose fuel hose and clamp (1). CAUTION Carefully inspect end of hose for cuts, tears, holes or other damage. Replace hose if any damage is found. Even the smallest hole can cause a reduction in fuel pressure. 10. Cut clamp and remove hose from regulator housing fit- ting.

Tachometer Installation Instructions for 2004+ Harley Davidson Sportster Custom Look for other model instructions online at www.speedwayinstruments.com Introduction: Installation of the Speedway Instruments microTach+ TM tachometer Tachometer requires some basic mechanical skills, including removing decorative covers, cutting protective tubing around wires, and using suitcase splice connectors to splice existing wiring harness. These actions may void your warranty, and if done incorrectly may cause damage to your motorcycle. Only you know your capabilities, if you do not feel capable of making modification please have a qualified motorcycle technician install it. Remove the seat. Remove or raise the fuel tank. The tank needs to be raised enough to give access to the fuel injectors and TPS wires. Unplug the front injector. On the FI Controller, there are 2 pairs of injector connectors. Plug the pair with the orange wires into the front cylinder injector harness and front cylinder injector. Repeat this using the other connector pair and the rear cylinder injector. Locate the TPS connector behind the throttle body. Crimp the wire tap onto the wire that is grey with a purple stripe. This wire should be in position “C” on the connector. Plug the grey wire from the FI Controller into the wire tap. Run the wiring harness for the FI Controller from the engine to the seat. Make sure that it will not get damaged when you reinstall the tank. Use one of the wire ties to tie the wires to the frame, away from the cylinder head. Place the FI Controller where you plan on mounting it permanently. In most cases, this will be under the seat. Connect the ground lug (black wire) to a grounding point on the bike. Use the Velcro tape to mount the FI Controller in position. Use alcohol swab to clean mounting surface prior to attaching Velcro. Feed the end of the wires through the frame so they are free from the motorcycle. NOTE: Pay attention to wire routing for re-installation. 2. Loosen the heat shield clamps on both the front and rear exhaust pipes. This allows easier access to the head pipe mounting nuts. 3. Remove the two head pipe mounting nuts from each fl ange, located at the cylinder head. 4. Remove the clamp bolt which mounts the rear head pipe to the belt drive cover bracket. 5. Remove the two bolts from each muffl er body where they attach to the mounting bar. Carefully remove exhaust pipes from the motorcycle and set aside. 6. Using a 7/8″ or 22mm wrench, carefully remove the O2 sensors from the stock head pipes and save for re-use with the new system. 7. Remove the drive belt cover and take the bracket off the rear cover bolt, the bracket will not be re-used. 8. Loosen the brake rod at the rear eyelet using a T30 torx driver. 9. Remove the three mount bolts and washers attaching the exhaust mounting bar (save hardware for re-use). 10. Carefully remove exhaust port fl anges and circlips from the stock exhaust system using snapring pliers. NOTE: Replace bent or damaged circlips. Check exhaust port gasket condition. Recommended replacement exhaust port gaskets, Harley part number:17048-98 or 65324-83A.

Lift the bracket enough to expose the 3 zip ties that hold the wiring harness to the bracket (Fig. B). Cut these 3 zip ties. 4 Pull upwards on the retaining plate (which holds the relays) enough to clear the battery (Fig. C). Fig.C Cut these 3 zip ties 4 9 Fig.D Adjusting Your Power Commander Your Power Commander has been programmed with a base map for your application. You can adjust the base map or install an alternate map using your Computer. Please refer to the supplied CD-Rom for more information. You can also adjust your Power Commander using the face plate buttons as described below. 1. With the ignition off, hold down all three buttons on the Power Commander III unit. 2. While still holding down the buttons, turn the ignition on. 3. Release buttons. 4. Select the range you wish to adjust: Low, Med, High, by pushing the corresponding button once. 5. At this point holding that button down will move the lights down ( leaning out the mixture). 6. Pushing the button repeatedly will move the light up (richening the mixture). 7. When the two center light are lit up this is the “0″ setting. After making your adjustments wait 20 seconds before starting the bike or turning it off. This allows the settings to be saved to memory. To verify that it is safe to start the bike, move the throttle and watch to see if the lights move up and down the scale. If they do, you may start or turn off the bike. Tabs 5 Rotate this plate forward to locate the relay retaining tabs (Fig. D). Bend these tabs so they are flush with the plate. This allows the relays to sit lower in the slots
