S&S Super E and G carb kits for 1936 to 1989 Big Twins contain a throttle cable guide (11-2339) designed for butterfly type throttle cables, and kits for 1990 and later Big Twins contain a taller throttle cable guide (11-2338) designed for CV type throttle cables. See Picture 2. The two throttle cable guides are interchangeable on the carburetor body, and can be changed very easily to update older carburetors or to accommodate custom throttle cables which are not stock for a particular year chassis. 1981 to Present Sportster Models Stock Sportster models from 1981 to 1987 have two cable throttle system designed for butterfly type carburetors. Sportsters from 1988 to present have a two cable throttle system designed for use with the stock constant velocity (CV) type carburetor. Since the taller #11-2338 cable guide bracket can not be used on a Sportster chassis due to insufficient frame clearance, throttle cables on Sportsters originally equipped with a CV type carburetor must be changed to butterfly style cables. Program Requirements i. All grantees must abide by the Ohio Administrative Rules, the Motorcycle Ohio Policy and Procedure Manual, MO office guidance and memorandums provided during the course of the year. The Ohio Administrative Rules and the Policy and Procedure Manual is available on the grant application website. ii. Grantees must offer the Basic Rider Course and may choose to offer any of the other approved courses. iii. Grantees must contract with instructors from the Motorcycle Ohio certified instructor list. Instructors must teach a minimum number of courses, for any grantee or combination of grantees, to remain on the certified list the following year (See Admin. Rules). While grantees have the right to contract with whom they wish, MO encourages grantees to use multiple instructors so they may maintain their certification to teach within the Ohio program. This will benefit the pool of instructors used by all grantees. iv. Grantees must abide by the MO Peer Observers and Quality Assurance (QA) programs which will be administered by the state office. These are two programs MO uses to maintain quality control. The peer observer program is a resource provided to motorcycle safety instructors. It serves to provide a quality rider education program by assisting each individual instructor in developing exceptional teaching abilities. Peer observers are active MO instructors who are trained in peer observer techniques and guidelines. The QA program is administered by the state to assist in maintaining the high standards of the program. QA individuals are trained instructors that visit grantees to verify that administrative rules and program standards are met.

With so many automatic transmission fluids, it’s hard to choose the one best-suited for each vehicle. Beginning in 2007, there will be several changes to the way we look at transmission fluids. Products meeting current DEXRON®-III /MERCON® specifications will no longer be officially licensed by GM and Ford. However, products meeting these specifications will still be available – packaged as Valvoline® DEX/MERC and Valvoline’s MaxLife® DEX/MERC transmission fluids. The DEX/MERC fluids are recommended for GM, Ford and many import vehicles, 2005 and older. MERCON®V will also be compatible for Ford vehicles, 1996 and newer. GM has introduced DEXRON®-VI -a new, full-synthetic transmission fluid for GM vehicles and select imports, 2006 and newer. It is also backwards compatible for older GM vehicles. Valvoline now offers DEXRON®- VI fluid, officially licensed and approved by General Motors

Yamaha V-Star 650 Multi Application Air Horns Installation Instructions

1. Remove the right side cover. 2. Unplug and remove the original horn. 3. Remove the bolt holding the rectifier to the frame and move it out of the way during installation. 4. Locate the hole in the frame shown in photo #4. This hole must be drilled out to 11/32″ for the compressor- mounting bolt. COMPRESSOR MOUNTING Before mounting the compressor it is necessary to install the hose and wires as follows, refer to photo #1 Cut one wire 30″ long. Crimp a female terminal to one end. Cut one wire 8″ long. Crimp a bare fork terminal to one end and a female blade to the other. 1. Attach the short wire to compressor (-), Long wire to compressor (+) 2. Lube one end of the hose with oil or WD-40 and attach to the compressor. 3. Using the bolt, nut, washer and lock washer provided slide the 8 X 16mm bolt in to the slot in the compressor. 4. Bolt the compressor between the frame and engine with the terminals facing down. 5. Re-Install the rectifier and attach the short (-) ground wire to the rectifier mounting bolt. HORN MOUNTING 1. Assemble the hose clamp onto the frame-mounting bracket as pictured in photo #2. 2. Attach the bracket to the frame as shown in photo #3 3. Attach the horn assembly to the bracket using the 5/16″ bolt nut and washers provided. Align the horns so that they are level or angled down slightly at the front and also so they are vertical when viewed from the front or rear. You may need to twist or bend the mounting bracket. Use 2 crescent wrenches to do so. 4. Tighten the hose clamp and 5/16″ bolt securely.

COMPRESSOR MOUNTING: Find a suitable location to mount the compressor. Under the seat, fuel tank or one of the side covers is the most concealed place. Mount the compressor using the supplied large hose clamp, long cable ties or bolt & nut. NOTE: Keep the compressor terminals pointing downward or horizontal. Locate and area that will be protected from water & dirt. Attach air hose to compressor. HORN MOUNTING: Mount horns to the frame or engine guards only. The most common place is the left front frame down – tube, below the fuel tank using the “L” bracket with the hose clamp routed through the slots. (See photos 2 & 3) If necessary you can bend or twist the bracket using a vise or two adjustable wrenches. Horns should be horizontal or slightly downward. They may be mounted on the right side by reversing the long and short trumpet. Flipping the bracket that mounts to the horns 180 degrees can do this. Route the hose from the compressor to the horns, cut to length & attach. Spraying WD-40 to the end of the hose helps ease assembly. Use a small flame to heat seal the hose outer braided cover to keep from fraying. WIRING: (see photo 1 & the wiring diagram) when mounting the relay be sure the terminals are pointed downward. Remove wires from the stock horn & attach to relay terminals 85 & 86. Find an inconspicuous place to mount the relay. Attach using supplied cable tie being sure the terminals are downward. Refer to diagram & make connections as shown using the supplied wire & terminals. Route wire neatly & wire neatly & where possible hidden. Cable tie the wire to secure. Turn on ignition & push horn button to test. HELPFUL HINTS: When routing wire or hose under fuel tank or difficult to reach place use a stiff piece of wire such as a coat hanger about 3′ or 4′ long for a helpful tool. Bend a small loop at one end. Push wire tool through, attach wire or house with tape and pull back through

the Airbag Parts Replacement Recommendations chart is designed as an aid to damage appraisal, and an initial guide to vehicle-specific airbag system repair after a deployment. The chart covers production vehicles sold in the United States. Because of the many changes that are occurring in airbag systems, there may be some exceptions to the chart. This chart is NOT intended to replace the service manual. A SERVICE MANUAL IS REQUIRED when making any airbag system repairs. The only way to determine if an airbag system is working properly is to observe the airbag warning lamp on the instrument panel. When the key is switched ON, the airbag lamp should light for a few seconds. This is important because it indicates that the lamp is working. If after a few seconds the lamp goes out, the system is working properly. If the lamp stays lit, a problem exists.
